Today we were all up at 4am to get to the airport for our 6am departure - what a stupid idea that was! But we made it with time to spare - even got a blockie through town in to fill in time since we left home far too early!
Arrived in Melbourne just after 7am - went and got some maccers for breakfast in Sunbury and headed out to Macedon to take Gemma home. Ayla and Zoe met Millie and she was happy to see Gemma back home. We had a bit of a look around Macedon Lodge and a tour of the stables.
Next mission was to get to Melbourne to pick up Grandma and head to Sutton Grange for lunch at the winery. Lunch was lovely at Sutton Grange and it was great to catch up with Kristy again. Took John for a bit of a tour around the Estate, went down and saw Molly and she came over for the girls to pat her.
We managed to get Grandma back to the airport in time and then headed out to the Essendon DFO to fill in an hour or so before afternoon tea with Bridget, Alex and Louis. After a lovely afternoon tea we headed back into town to check in to the Mecure for the night.
Breakfast Monday morning was downstairs in the dining room, Ayla and Zoe were on their best behaviour and ate breakfast without too much fuss.
Next mission was to catch the city circle tram from Spring Street to Spencer street and walk up to the DFO to do a spot of shopping - the tram trip there was fine but the one back was a bit crowded! When we got back to Spring Street - we left John with the shopping to take back to the car while Ayla, Zoe and I caught a taxi to the Dora show.
It was after the Dora Show that our couple of days turned to disaster. The show ran over time and then it was a nightmare trying to exit the stadium. Then to find not a Taxi in sight, no phones to call one and it was pouring with rain. The girls were so good while I was near tears trying to walk back to town in the rain. We were then running really late to get to the airport. However we got there in time, with no time to waste and then after checking in John finds that he's lost both mobile phones between leaving the hire car and checking in. Not a good end to the holiday.
However not all is lost - John managed to get his sim cancelled and phone wiped and someone found my phone and has it for collection.
