Mount Field Snow Trip

13th July 2008

Up early for a sunday we got dressed in our warm clothes and packed a change of clothes for the kids along with gumboots, beanies, gloves and scarves and waited to for Grandpa to pick us up. We were on the road at 9am and on our way to Mt Field.

The girls were really good in the back of the car (especially without a DVD player!!) and it was no time at all and we were heading up the Lake Dobson Road to the snow.

There were a few keen people all ready up there and a few more arrived while we had a play in the snow and lots more started their journey to the top while we were on our way back down.

Ayla got all upset and wanted to go back to car when her boots started disappearing in the snow and she was up to her knees in the snow. I don't know what she was complaining about - Grandpa lost his whole leg at one stage!!! After about an hour of throwing snow balls and pulling lost feet and legs out of the snow we headed back down to Westerway for some lunch.

Lake Dobson was well and truely frozen over!
