Johnson Holiday Day 9

3rd January

We were up early again today - another cooked breakfast and then the task of packing the car again! Today would get us another day closer to Port Douglas! The day's travelling was pretty uneventful - our first day of nice weather, that was a treat.

By the time we hit Rockhampton we needed to have a toilet stop! So we put public toilets into the GPS and it directed us to the nearest ones - which happened to be the Botanical Gardens in Rockhampton. That was a nice find and a definate must do on our way back down.

Further along the road we came across the Big Mango - and a quick click of the camera out the window snapped that one to add to the collection.

When we finally made it to Airlie Beach it was late afternoon, but we had had a late lunch - and luckily this was our first night of accomodation with cooking facilities - boy am I looking forward to being able to do a proper shopping trip when we get to Port Douglas.

Before tea we went for a swim and the water was lovely. Lots warmer than the pool at Deception Bay. However the floaties and goggles were left behind there - so we will have to call in a pick them up on our way back!

As you will see from the pics the views from our unit were glorious and we went for a bit of a drive too and took some more of the mariner.

Our next leg is Airlie Beach to Port Douglas so we had an early start the next day!
