We were up early this morning for our last big cooked breakfast before we hit the road. Our next leg was Deception Bay to Gladstone. We were going to take the direct route here but decided that since we were well ahead of schedule that we would detour via Bundaberg and take a bit of a look at the Rum Distillery. And a fine damn detour it turned out to be - we did a bit of a tour around the place, had ourselves a free sample and did a bit of shopping in the Bundy shop! We thought briefly about getting a few gifts and ended up spending on ourselves - Sorry guys!!! However this evening I realised that I actually got myself a nice bargain - I actually got two bottles of Royal Liqueur for the price of one and John has discovered a Bundy Dark & Stormy and boy is that a nice drop!
We found our accommodation for the night and have settled in - I still have problems sending emails out - so I had a bit of a talk with Helen (Franklin) and she set me on the right track to creating this wonderful blog that you can all have a look at!
I will endeavour to update it daily - when we have internet connection - and keep you all up to date on our travels! We have had word from John's mates in Townsville that we are heading into nicer weather and will eventually leave the rain behind in a day or two - that will be really nice! The girls are looking forward to staying put for a few days so that we can enjoy some more swimming and so that we can sit back and enjoy a few bundy's in the evening not having to worry about the drive ahead of us the next day!
