Johnson Holiday Day 23

17th January

Well today was a very slow start to the day! Just couldn’t get up and going! We checked out at about 9.30am – but we had a bit of backward travelling to do drop Gemma back at her Dad’s place. We did that and had tears and yelling from Ayla and Zoe because they wanted their Gemma. But it wasn’t too long on the road before they settled down and watched a movie. Our next destination was Port Macquarie and not only did we have a late start to the day – but we lost an hour too because Queensland isn’t on daylight savings time. We knew that we weren’t going to make it to the caravan park before 6ish – so I rang and let them know and they left the keys out for us.

The trip down the coast wasn’t very exciting at all – and the weather was still pretty miserable – the bad weather seemed to be following us!

We arrived there close to 7pm and it wasn’t too bad because our bodies thought it was only 6pm. We unpacked what we needed and I cooked tea. Both the girls had slept in the car so it was a bit later before we managed to get them into bed. This caravan park left a bit to be desired – considering it was a lot more in price, I kind of expected a lot better cabin than we got. But it was a roof over our heads and somewhere to cook a meal. We didn’t use any of the park facilities as it wasn’t the nicest of weather. We planned to be up early and on the road the next morning.
