Johnson Holiday Day 21

15th January

Today we had a short distance to travel but we tried to fit lots in.

When we departed Maroochydore we headed for the Super Bee - it wasn't too bad - the park was a bit over grown but we soon found out that the whole centre was closing down - they are moving it to Forbes in NSW. Around the Park where buildings that depicted Fairy Tales. There was Snow White and the seven dwarves, Goldilocks and the 3 bears, the 3 little pigs, Little REd Riding Hood and The House that Jack Built. The land that it is built on is going to be a new sub division.

We wandered around in the rain and we went into the demonstration - however we had to leave that early because Zoe was playing up. I also recieved a phone call to say that a treasured dog had been left behind as well - so back to the holiday units to pick up the dog and then on to ettamogah Pub for lunch.

We called in to see Caralyn but she wasn't home yet so we had a quick chat with Steve and kept going. We still had over an hour to go to get to the Gold Coast.

After we left Caralyn's we headed down to the Gold Coast in the rain to find the Treasure Island Caravan Park. It was good that we didn’t wait any longer to head down because we encountered some very slow moving traffic on the way down.

After we checked in and had a bit of a look about we headed out to do some grocery shopping. I needed to get some supplies for the next couple of days.

Gemma joined us just before tea and then after tea, all the girls went for a swim. The pool had a waterslide and Ayla though it was just great. She went down a couple of times with Gemma and after she did it herself a couple of times she no longer has a fear of jumping into the water. She does it rather confidently now but only when there is someone there to catch her. I don’t think it will take much now with her swimming lessons to have her swimming properly.

Sounds like you're all having a great time!! Bugger the rain though (good in one sense, bad in another I guess!) but it's good there's still plenty for you all to do even when the weather's not so good!!

All is well here. Started my Menzies position in the middle last week and so far I'm having a great time, lots to do and the people I'm working with are fantastic, very relaxed and calm working environment (unless one of the rats gives us issues) :-)

Take care, chat soon,

Nick B
