Johnson Holiday Day 20

January 14th

Today was a slightly longer trip from Rockhampton to Maroochydore. The kids were awake early this morning and we were on the road around 9.30am.

There wasn't much to see on the way down and we hit a few rain patches with downpours. We stopped for morning tea at a little historical town. It was a very nice spot apart from the fact that we had to make a donation for using the toilets.

Lunch was at Gin Gin and we had some sandwiches from the road house and then back on the road. Sometime shortly after lunch we had a phone call from the Treasure Island Caravan Park about our booking on the 15th January which was the next day. I had made a big stuff up booked the wrong night at the caravan park on the 15th we were meant to be staying with Caralyn. OOPS! So now we had the task of trying to find somewhere to stay on the 16th because we didn't want to back track to caralyns and make the day we drive to Port Maquarie a too big a day.


It was late afternoon before we made it to Maroochydore. After we checked in and John carried the necessities up three flights of stairs we made ourselves comfortable for the night.

After tea and the when the kids were bathed and into bed we organised a babysitter for an hour while we went up to our roof top spa and enjoyed a spa bath. It was lovely once we could get into it - cause it was so hot!

We organised accommodation for our extra night and all was good again!
