Johnson Holiday Day 11

5th January

Well today was absolutley lovely - we didn't have to get up and hit the road! we lounged about til 10ish and then decided that we would take a bit of a look about Port Douglas! That was done with in about 1o minutes - its a sleepy little tourist spot with less locals that St Helens!

Since that didn't take long we thought we'd take a bit of a drive to Mossman and have a sticky beak - that was only a short drive so we thought we'd go through to Daintree Village. There certianly wasn't as much rainforest as we'd have hoped there would be - but it was still a nice drive!

On the way back we had a little bit of an incident - we passed a police car going in the opposite direction and then with a few minutes he was behind us with his red and blue lights flashing! John pulled over and we both started panicing about what the hell was going on as we weren't even anywhere near going over the speed limit - we were too busy taking in the scenery! Well the police officers walked up the side of the car and apologised for pull us up but when the did a search on the plates were were apparently driving a white unregistered vehicle. It wasn't til they pulled us over and parked behind us that they realised that it was a tassie rego plate and not a queensland one! He apologised for the inconvenience and said that he may as well breathe test John just to make it all worth while! The plain clothes officer with him was a collingwood support so we had him on side too and they wished us the best for the rest of our trip!

When we got back we had some lunch and went for a swim - it was lovely - the pool is really warm. The kids had fun and didn't want to get out, so we promised them that we would get back in after tea. And we did - stayed there til the mozzie came out and when they started landing on our faces.
