Johnson Holiday Day 10

4th January

Well we were up and on the road by 7.30am - we had our biggest day on the road today and we are looking forward to getting to Port Douglas and letting our hair down for a few days!

We stopped at about 8.30am for some breakfast and had a lovely bacon and egg roll and a coffee - that should keep us going til early afternoon!

Then it was on the road to Townsville! John had a couple of guys to catch up with in Townsville and just as we arrived in town the rain came down in bucket fulls. We found Adrian's house and that was a great opportunity for the girls to have a bit of a run around (big verandah right round the house!) We are stopping in Townsville for the night on the way back down so we have arrange to catch up for a BBQ tea and a the girls can have a swim in their pool!

Next stop was for a late lunch and then we had a pit stop just before Cairns to change drivers.

John got the last leg with the drive into Port Douglas! No pics from here yet - we unpacked the car - I went and did some shopping and we just vegged out - tooks some time to get the kids to bed - but at least tomorrow we don't have to get up early!

Tomorrow we will have a look around town and find out what we can get up to for the next week!
