Johnson Holiday Day 1, 2 & 3

Hi there Everyone!

We have been on the road now since Boxing day. We had a great trip to Devonport and a lovely dinner at the Argosy before we went to line up for the boat.

The trip on the boat was bloody awful - not so much because of the crossing but because the kids wouldn't go to sleep and by the time we got to sleep - it was time to get up again!

27th December

We were off the boat by 6.30am and on the road - first stop was 8am at a McDonalds to get a decent cup of coffee! The kids had hotcakes and a play in the park and we were on the road again by 8.30am. Morning tea break brought us up to Sale and we didn't stop for long other than to have a toilet stop - a quick run in the park and something to eat and drink.

Back on the road - (the bit the kids love!!) pushing on past some lovely scenery and some busy tourist spots - straight through lakes entrance (we are staying there for two nights on the way back). We stopped off at Orbost to eat lunch - but we had to fight the flies for it and all the girls wanted to do was get back in the car - I had to even encourage them to go and have a play in the park - cause the flies were driving them mad!

From Orbost we hit the road and kept going til we got to Merimbula - we arrived there mid afternoon and went and had a rest for an hour or so before we went in search for something to eat. We ended up a really nice pizza place with gormet pizza - it was lush!

28th December

This morning we were on the road by 9am and our destination was Sydney. Robbie and Colwynn were kind enough to put us up for the night. We had fun getting there - again we saw some really nice places along the way - took the scenic route from Merimbula via Tathra and really enjoyed the trip - we kept driving til came across Bermagui which seemed like a good place for a coffee and a play in the park. Then we headed back to the highway! Our next stop was Nowra where we enjoyed a nice lunch in the a park by a lake. Ayla decided that she was going to tackle the slide and two seconds after her decent she froze and screamed - guess who had to go and rescue her! Good old Dad!!!!

Next stop was Sydney - We managed to navigate our way through Sydney, however we did the harbour tunnel instead of the bridge - so we will have to do the bridge on the way back. Made it to Robbie & Colywnn's for a fantastic evening and a really good nights sleep.........
