Johnson Family Holiday Day 28

22nd January

Well today was the last day for us all on the Mainland and yes you guessed it - it seemed like the longest day in history. The day would have been quite nice if we had been able to go and Visit Bridget, but because of the chickenpox we had to find something else to do. And now Zoe was coming out in the same spots as Ayla.

So after breakfast, we decided to pack up the car and take the girls to Luna Park. Neither of us had been there so off we went to have a bit of a look. It was free to get in, but the rides cost so we decided to get a family pass for all the rides.

The girls had a ball, the worst part was the lining up to go on rides. We took a bit of a chance with a couple, but the girls loved them - even the fast ones. Ayla wanted to go on one that took you up and dropped you down. Zoe was too small to go on it - so John had to go and distract her while Ayla and I lined up. I was a bit worried that Ayla would have freaked out not wanted to continue on - but she was less frightened than me!

Once we had had enough there we took the girls for a walk down to St Kilda beach. It was a lovely day and there were heaps of people down there. We ended up going back to the Novotel to get the car and go in search of a Mcdonalds for lunch. That didn't take too long and then we went for a bit of a drive to find a park. We found one along the foreshore, parked the car and spent about an hour there. Boy was the day going slow. We could see the boat from where we were and we had until 5.30pm to fill in before we could go and line up. We went for a bit of a drive back along towards Luna park to have a look at all the kite boarders. It was really interesting to watch.

Then it was just about time to go and line up to go onto the boat.

Once on board we found our room, then went to find something for tea, had tea and then went back to get the kids into bed. That was at about 8.30pm, and after watching a couple of DVD's they were both asleep without too much trouble.

We were on our way home!
