Johnson Holiday Day 13

7th January

We had to set the alarm this morning because John was being picked up at 7.45am for his fishing trip. It was raining again today, but not constantly. There were breaks in the rain when we could do a few things.

Once John was on his way the girls watched TV for a while and I cleaned up, did some washing and made the beds. At about 11am I packed them in the car and we headed round to the Wildlife Sanctuary to have lunch with the lorikeets. The rain dampened some of the day, but we managed to see just about everything. Lunch was nice however trying to keep the birds from stealing Ayla’s lunch and keep the unruly 2 year old under control became a bit of a challenge – especially when Zoe took off and I couldn’t find her and the birds targeted Ayla cause she was a child there on her own. I was lucky enough for a nice English lady to offer to sit and protect Ayla for me while I went to find Zoe and to chain her to her seat.

We spent the afternoon watching DVD’s until John got home just before 5pm. He had a great day out on the reef and landed 4 fish. The biggest a giant Trevalley. He was very proud of his catch. He was told that the restaurant two doors down from where we are staying would prepare the fish for us to eat if we took it down to them. So I walked down the street with the fish and dropped it off and booked us in for dinner at 6.30pm. That was my first mistake – booking us in for tea with the kids!

The restaurant was lovely and the staff really nice – the meal was just perfect…..but Zoe was so damn embarrassing we ended up leaving after scoffing our meals down. She just screamed and screamed and screamed when she could get her own way. We have decided that we are not going to eat out with her again til she’s 20!!!!!!
